Grand Central Towers
A twin tower development located 12 minutes from Canberra’s CBD. In the design, the architects drew inspiration from New York’s Grand Central Station. The two towers comprise 430 glass-fronted residential apartments and commercial offices over 26 storeys, with the ground floor having an industrial brick façade.
"Building methods included precast construction combined with long-span post-tensioned slab methods, jump-form cores and curved slab edges. The completed towers reach 100m above street level. There are also seven levels of bridged floors"
The light-filled apartments provide excellent views and have been designed with luxurious comfort and convenience in mind. But looking great is only one side of the equation – a tremendous amount of detail also went into the structural engineering process and the building has been constructed to the highest possible standards.
There is also a podium with commercial spaces, a four-level basement carpark, and shared resort-style facilities including an infinity pool, rooftop retreat, gym and library.
