Aspen Village
Aspen Village is situated 20 minutes from the Canberra CBD, and just over an hour to the snowfields.
The mixed use development is described as a “village lifestyle for modern living”
The multi-stage project consists of four towers, up to 12 storeys of apartments, as well as commercial spaces and a three-level basement carpark. It includes a rooftop entertain- ment space, heated pool and a street-level plaza.
There are over 600 apartments. They have a sense of luxury while being affordable, and were inspired by North American and European alpine living. The apartments come with full-length windows, many providing views of the lake or mountains.
The project presented several challenges. These included a tight budget, load-bearing wall construction, the rising cost of materials during construction, a full precast concrete façade, and potential thermal movement in one of the towers. But the development came together – with the result proving what the combined effort and expertise of the Palantir team, professional builders and architects can achieve.
